A Groundhog, His Shadow and Spring Observances with The Bowen Group

Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his burrow in February and saw his shadow, foretelling six more weeks of winter. Instead, it’s felt more like 12 — double what the prognosticating groundhog led us to believe (don’t even get me started on spring snow!), but we’re finally seeing hopeful signs of a new season. The flowers are popping, things are hopping and we couldn’t be more excited and energized at The Bowen Group. We invite you to learn more about what we’re doing and come partner with us.

April brings a number of annual observations, including the Month of the Military Child, Financial Capability Month and Stress Awareness Month. We are proud to support these important causes through our work in our core practice areas of Strategy and Planning, Outreach and Engagement, and Health and Wellness Services.

Month of the Military Child
With April as the Month of the Military Child, we recognize and honor the youngest members of the military community for their service and sacrifice. Talk about a topic that’s near and dear to our hearts!

Two-thirds of our Bowen team members have a military affiliation. We’re veterans, military spouses and now-grown military children who know the best way to serve our military community. Supporting its members’ health, wellness and quality of life is at the very heart of our history and mission as a company. So, you better believe you’ll find us decked out in purple finery on April 13, when people “purple up!” to show support for military children.

Financial Capability Month
This Financial Capability Month, we’re helping to spread the message to our employees and clients about the importance of financial fitness. After all, when we create and adhere to a household budget, stock away emergency savings and take steps to secure a comfortable retirement, we gain peace of mind and boost our wellness. And you can’t put a price on that!

The Bowen Group is assisting the Department of Defense Office of Financial Readiness (FINRED)  — not only just in April, but also throughout the year — by prioritizing financial health and providing information and resources that service members and their families can trust, so they can have that vital peace of mind and focus on the mission at hand.

Stress Awareness Month
Everyone experiences stress from time to time, but too much of it can threaten our physical, mental and emotional wellness. When it does become too much, support is available. It’s our great honor to help provide that support at The Bowen Group. Our health and wellness services include 24/7 call centers, which feature the latest technology and are staffed by veterans, military spouses and other employees who understand the unique needs of service members, veterans and their families.

Our Wounded Warrior Call Center team has had thousands of positive interactions, including hundreds of in-person visits, with Marines and their family members. They express gratitude for the services we offer, the calls we make to check on them and the reminders that we’ll never forget them.

We also support the Department of Defense BeThere Peer Support Call and Outreach Center in its mission to help our nation’s heroes in any area of life, including parenting support, sleep issues, post-traumatic stress, psychological health and suicide prevention. The Bowen Group has helped spread awareness of the program and increase calls to the center, which features veteran and military spouse staff members and is available 24/7/365 by phone, text or live chat.

It’s our honor this April and throughout the year to support our nation’s military children and encourage financial capability and stress awareness. Come partner with us as we continue serving our country and our community, sowing seeds for a bright and secure future.
